Bass body routing

Next part of the bass guitar build is to route the body shape. I screwed the MDF body template onto the wood, and then routed around with a trim router bit. Unfortunately it's not long enough to do the thickness of the wood, so I'll have to turn it over and make another pass from the bottom later.

Routed the neck shape as well, using a straight edge as a guide. At this point the vacuum cleaner died horribly, as the bag burst and all the sawdust went into the motor. Whoops.

Another pass with the router got the neck piece finished, and I also routed the channel for the truss rod.

Unfortunately the sharpest corner on the body was a bit much for my routing skills, and it chipped off. I'll have to have a think about how to fix that...

Flipped the wood over, and used a bottom bearing trim bit to route off the bottom 10mm or so. It came out OK!
